Aria Commentary

After watching the claymation the first time, I was left very confused and wondering what a lot of the video actually meant. As I watched again, I felt that the storyline strongly represented a couple that was brought together to have a child. Once the male character returns, he has already fallen in love with someone else and is simply there for their child. I think their relationship is often displayed from the music playing from the phonograph. The child also being attached to the umbilical cord even after birth, to me, showed the attachment that the mother had for the child which ultimately shows why she was so angry and hurt once she was taken away. I think the video was very well made and had lots of unique symbolism and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Raul Cuero Thoughts

Raul Cuero was often discredited and not seen to be the creative, passionate and hard-working man he truly is. His background caused him to face many obstacles that others in his field may have been able to avoid. He often received judgement from the people around him because of his perplex views on things and his creative approach towards solutions and inventions, which he used as more determination to accomplish more. To best understand the world, Cuero has traveled lots and met many different people to give him a "universal conscience." With all of the hardships he came across, Raul had no choice but to take creative solutions and truly change the expectations of others by doing the unknown. He believes everything needs to be done with intensity without worrying about the consequences and the possibility of failing. After watching the video, I hope to further understand and even put forth the ideas and mindset that Cuero has been able to achieve after years of giving back to our society.
